Run, Run Rudolph

Hello friends,

Another Christmas card for the new challenge at Double D Challenges. The theme for this fortnight is “Run Run Rudolph”. Team Diane is looking for any kind of deer (doesn’t have DD_Reindeerto be Christmas). The team have created beautiful cards to inspire you – a visit to the Double D Challenge blog will be worthwhile and as always there is a lovely prize to win!

I was inspired by the colors, script and reindeer in the inspiration picture. I like the earthy tones and decided to create my card in brown, gold and cream. I layered script designer paper on a brown base paper and added a gold die cut wreath as background for the reindeer. I attached the gold wreath with a bow to the sentiment. The reindeer was layered with mirror tape to the wreath and embellished with a fancy die-cut bow and small paper roses. I finished off with gold sequins . I love the colors and rustic look of this Christmas card.

I entered my card in the following challenges:

Christmas Reindeer

Hello friends,

Another Christmas card for the new challenge at Double D Challenges. The theme for this fortnight is “It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas”. Team Diane is looking for Christmas cards with red and white with an optional pop of green. The team have created beautiful cards to inspire you – a visit to the Double D Challenge blog will be worthwhile and as always there is a lovely prize to win!

I used the reindeer and the white, green and red colors in the tile as inspiration for my card. I decided on roses for embellishments as the roses are in full bloom in South Africa during Christmas time. To add a festive feel to the card I dressed the reindeer with a gold bow and added hanging hearts from the leafy sprig border. I finished of with a sentiment and gold pearls on the hearts.

On The Bright Side

Hello friends,

A new challenge starts today at Double D Challenges. Team Diane is hosting this challenge with the happy theme of “Neons / Brights”. Just look at the cheerful mood board – it will surely help you to get started. The team have created a bunch of bright cards to inspire you – a visit to the Double D Challenge blog will be worthwhile. We have also a fun prize to give away to one lucky player which will be chosen by Random.org.

My card is a little bit different from what you usually see on my blog. Yes, I tried again to make a clean and simple card. It was not easy for me but I managed to put something together that in a way matches the mood board! I swiped five different distress inks on white card-stock, cut the hearts with a Memory Box die and then layered the colored hearts on a white panel. Some of the hearts as well as the top panel were lifted with mirror tape from the base card for dimension. I added tiny gemstones for sparkle and a red bow (because my card needs a bit of shabbiness!). I finished off with a die-cut sentiment.

I entered my card in the following challenges:

The sentiment in bright red

The colorful waterfall of hearts

Project details.

Red and white card-stock — Memory Box die “Heart waterfall” (No. 99079) — Crealies Text Dies (CLTD 106) — Tim Holtz distress inks (Peacock feathers, Candied apple, Mustard seed, Mowed lawn, Spiced marmalade) — Tiny gemstones — Hug Snug seam binding for bow.

Thank you for visiting today! I hope you like this CAS creation. If you do, please leave a comment – I love reading them. Have a great day and happy crafting.
