Neutral Fall

Hello friends

I hope you are all doing well. Today’s post is about the new challenge at Double D Challenges with the theme “Neutral Fall”. For more information about the challenge and the lovely prize visit the Double D Challenge blog. Looking forward to see your card!

My inspiration for the challenge was the lovely neutral colours and the touch of green in the picture. I used cream card-stock for the base card and then add designer paper for the background. I framed the cute squirrel in a leafy die cut frame and then add the leaves, bows and a few pearls. I finished off with a die cut sentiment. This was such an easy card to make and I love the shabby feel of it.

Challenges I entered:

  • Scrapy Land Challenges #125 (ends 11/20) – Anything Goes with a die cut from a brand that Scrapy Land sells (Dies: Spellbinders Designer Series Timeless Heart “Heart Leaf Frame” (S5-316) — Creative Expressions Mini Shadowed Sentiments die “For You” (CEDSS002) — Lawn Fawn Craft die “Stitched Leaves” (Item #LF577) — Impression Obsession die “Leaves” (DIE095-D))

Sparkle …

Hello friends,

A card to share for the new challenge at Double D Challenges. The theme for our  challenge this time is “Pearls, Gems or Rhinestones”. We have a prize to give away to one lucky player which will be chosen by Random.org. while a Top Creative Winner and Top 3 will be chosen by the Design Team.

I used the green and pink colors from the inspiration collage to create a  quick and easy card for this challenge. I used a pretty fairy die cut as my focal point layered on a piece of designer paper. I framed the image and layered it again on designer background paper.  The fun part was to glue all the little gemstones and hearts  randomly on the card to give a magical feel. I finished of with a die cut sentiment.

I entered my card in the following challenges:

The Pink Hat

Hello friends,

A new challenge starts today at the Double D Challenge blog. Team Diane is hosting this challenge with the theme “Kentucky Derby Hat Inspiration”.  Be inspired by what you see DD_Hatson these hats, maybe it’s the colors, flowers even the horse. It does not have to be a hat! Please visit Double D Challenges and see more wonderful samples from our talented designers and join in the fun! We have a prize to give away to one lucky player which will be chosen by Random.org. while a Top Creative Winner and Top 3 will be chosen by the Design Team.

I decided to use the right bottom tile as inspiration for my Mother’s Day card. I love the combination of black and pink, so pretty. I used several layers of black and white cardstock, designer paper and some pretty lace as base for the pink die cut hat. I embellished the hat with die cut feathers, a small buckle, a rose and some glitter stones. I finished off with a stamped sentiment on a tag, bows, leaves and roses. A few hearts were the final touches.

Hope you like my take on the challenge.

Rustic Hearts

Hello friends,

Valentine’s day is around the corner and with that in mind we have a new challenge for DD_Heartsyou at Double D Challenges. To celebrate this day of love our theme is “Hearts”. The mood board is so pretty, I am sure you will find lots of inspiration to create a card for the Double D challenge.

I love the rustic and shabby look of the hearts, the neutral colors and the textures in the inspiration picture. With that in mind I decided to create my card with kraft paper for a rustic look. I added a piece of burlap on the base layer for texture and then a pretty trellis and heart die cut. I lifted some of the hearts with mirror tape for dimension. I added some pearls, flowers and wax cord  bows as embellishments. The final touch is a die cut sentiment. Hope you like my take on the challenge.

I entered my card in the following challenges:

I finished off with  bows, paper roses, more gemstone stars and a sentiment. This was a quick and easy shabby card to make. I hope the recipient will love it!
